Curtis, 55, graduated the nine-month Electro-Mechanical Technologies (EMT) program at RSI in 2016. Curtis is a member of the Navajo Nation tribe and is originally from a small community called Wide Ruin, Arizona, north east of Holbrook. Today Curtis resides and works for himself in Kayenta, Arizona.
This program trains and prepares students for entry as new construction and maintenance electricians. Students should develop an understanding of electrical principles, the National Electric Code and how they apply to buildings and facilities.
The Refrigeration Technologies program teaches students electrical and mechanical principles with hands-on diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heating, cooling and refrigeration problems to prepare them to work as service and maintenance technicians.
The Electro-Mechanical Technologies combines the courses of the Electrical Technologies and Refrigeration Technologies programs and includes an overview of Photovoltaic Science and an introduction to the Fundamentals of Solar.
This program builds upon skills learned in the Electro-Mechanical Technologies program and gives students more in-depth training to prepare them for careers requiring the understanding of all interrelated workings in facilities and commercial environments.
The Electrical Applications program at RSI is the perfect fit for someone who wants a career where they can work with their hands and finish electrician school quickly. TWS gives students a hands-on education in a real-world environment where they are taught by industry-experienced professionals.
The Welding Specialist program prepares a graduate for entry level positions in structural, pipe and pipeline, and thin alloy welding. This intense program is primarily lab based and focuses on developing critical welding skills.
